how to tell if your apartment is haunted

443 and 451 Wrightwood have been around since the 1920s. Developer Ben Bogeaus bought this corner spot in Lincoln Park and hired Raymond A. Gregori to design two sister apartment buildings. Since the development of these vintage buildings, some interesting events have taken place. These historic buildings were rumored to be a hangout spot for Al Capone and later on, a nuclear shelter for the Cold War. Tenants have even talked about how they believe the building is haunted. So this brings up the question: How do you know if your apartment is haunted?

There are several ways to tell if your apartment is haunted or not. Here are major signs:

Unexplained temperature changes: Ghosts require energy from the environment and this creates heat. Ghosts are also associated with temperature drops. Pay close attention to the temperature if you suspect a ghost!

Your pets are acting weird: Pets have a sense of ghosts of ghosts that we do not have. This is due to their sense of smell and hearing. Pay attention to if they gravitate to a certain part of the apartment or if your dog is barking at nothing. Dogs are also known to foresee events so it isn't too far off for them to be able to sense paranormal activity. Even if you do not own a pet, you could always ask a friend or family member to bring over their furry friend to see if anything unusual occurs!

Unexplained electrical problems: Ghosts like to mess with people in this way. Ghosts can control electricity by doing things like flickering lights or turning the tv on and off. You can even try to use an audio or video recording to see if you can hear them!

Objects going missing then finding them in random places: Again, ghosts like to mess with people and what better way to annoy someone than misplacing something? Ghosts are in another dimension so this is a pretty rare task for a ghost to accomplish but it is still possible.

Hearing footsteps or unusual noises: This one could be quite difficult to detect because noises are common for older apartments. Although, it is pretty easy to determine the difference between casual house noises and doors slamming.
